Project manager at Axelent Safety: Patrik Persson. Description: We carried out a preliminary risk analysis at Volvo as the basis for selection of material and the most suitable solution. The solution also takes account of the customer's wishes to ensure optimum safety while retaining function and productivity. Assembly took place in seven batches, as the cranes were replaced consecutively, starting in August and finishing in December. Most work was carried out at weekends, as major production interruptions are not acceptable at Volvo. The final risk analysis and CE documentation were compiled on site and submitted to Swisslog just before Christmas 2003.
